In October 2016, my two sons and I had an extremely enjoyable and informative day with Marcus. It was very evident that he was extremely knowledgeable and had put in a lot of organisation prior to the day to ensure the activities on the day(canoeing, bush craft and the wildlife of Suffolk) were age appropriate, exciting and appealing for my sons. We were very well catered for throughout the day as we canoed our way down the picturesque River Stour and captured in some wonderful photos that Marcus took and gave to us. Marcus’ willingness to impart his “adventure” knowledge made this an interesting and interactive day that we did not want to end. We would thoroughly recommend Marcus & MERP Adventure and we will be back for Part II ourselves in the not too distant future!!

I first met Marcus when I went to teach bushcraft at Malsis preparatory school, where he was headmaster. He inspired confidence from the very first handshake. Since then Marcus and I have collaborated on many camps, lessons and activities, and I always look forward to accompanying him on his adventures. He is a natural leader, inspiring his students with old-fashioned British derring-do, helping them to understand that they are capable of so much more than they ever imagined.
Marcus is approachable and easy going, yet exudes professionalism. He is adventurous without taking risks; good humoured, but sensitive to the needs of others; Fearless, yet he never pushes others beyond what they can bear. His years of teaching and police work have given him a sixth sense regarding children, and he has an instant rapport with them, inspiring respect and confidence from the very start.
I wish Marcus all the best with MERP Adventures, and sincerely hope to join him again soon.

Marcus Peel introduced me to a wide range of outdoor activities, including hiking, mountain leadership, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, caving, camping/bushcraft with MERP Adventure, and abseiling.  He taught me how to approach hazards and dangers safely.  This early interest developed into a love of outdoor pursuits and a range of recognised awards.  Following a gap year as ski chalet host and learning to sail Maxi yachts in Australia, I will be studying for a BA (Hons) in Travel Adventure Media at Cumbria University.

Our two children have learned an enormous amount about life, from Marcus and Louise Peel.  They are talented, highly motivated, inspirational teachers.  They are well organised and a oversee an expert, caring team.  Marcus has been an exceptional role model for our son, introducing him to a wide range of adventurous activities, which have helped him develop the ability to assess situations, develop his own strength of character and an ability to feel comfortable in challenging situations.  MERP Bushcraft camps in Yorkshire and Suffolk, packed full of activities and opportunities to ‘learn while doing’, plus food and music around a camp fire have been a highlight; they are a great opportunity for adventure, to learn new life skills and to have fun.

MERP Adventure have provided us with two memorable camping trips over the past couple of years. Our son enjoyed his first visit with a school group so much that I took him again two years later, when we enjoyed camping, canoeing, bushcraft and the warmth and hospitality of the Peel family.
Marcus’ energy and enthusiasm for this lifestyle are infectious and, as we have discovered, MERP Adventure are able to provide excellent experiences for children, family groups and adults. Not only are their trips well organised and fun, there is also scope for learning a great deal about our natural surroundings from highly knowledgeable people. I highly recommend them to anyone considering such a trip and wish them every success.
